Green Grab Bag

As you may know, I rarely use “beauty products” because I only use natural products.  There are a few go to lotions, shampoos, and bath products that I use, but I usually don’t branch out much.  When I heard about Green Grab Bag I was excited to try it out.  Green Grab Bag was started by the beauty editor of White Apricot.  They send monthly subscription boxes filled with at least six natural samples a month, so you can try out products before your invest in the full size item.  They also have a build your own custom box option.  The subscription is $15 a month, and the custom boxes range in price from $15 to $25 depending on the number of items you want.  I am definitely going to try out this option in the future.

Green Grab Bag sent me out the July box to review (Thank you!).  The box and USPS did not get along well and it arrived a little smashed, but everything inside was fine.  Also, the box only took three days to appear at my house.

There is a product list placed on top of the lovely tissue paper with an explanation of the contents of the box and everything is wrapped in eco-friendly recyclable products.  The July box contained six products and a bonus yoga download.

Travel Size Dr. Sponge Facial Cleansing Sponge ($7.50)- This is my favorite item from the box.  It is great for sensitive skin because it is all natural and made of plant fibers.  It contains no soap.  When I first looked at it I thought there is no way that I want to put something that rough on my face, but then I read the instructions, which said to run it under water for a few minutes before use so it can rehydrate.  Once I did that it was fluffy and did an excellent job cleaning my skin.  It will also last for three to six months if used daily.

Pura Botanica Lend a Hand Creme Smoother ($0.16)- Enough for one use, and I could not tell if I am in love with this product.  However, the company does support the National Save a Sea Turtle Foundation, which is pretty awesome.

Fleegal Farms Soap Bar ($2.06)- This soap smells great and is the perfect size for travel.  It also left my hands feeling very soft.

Buffalo Gal Organics Starry Night Lip Lover ($4.00)- A weakness of mine is lip balms, and this one is good.  I like the hint of citrus and then sweet but not over powering scent.  It also didn’t make my lips feel slimy or sticky.

Mun No.1 Aknari Nighttime Dream Youth Serum  (?)- This is a tiny little sample of a very expensive product.  I used it all at once.  It smelled good, but did it make me look younger.  I don’t think so.

Shea Terra Organics Whipped Shea Butter Body Creams ($2.00)- My skin was super dry from all the flying that I have been doing and this helped to make me a whole lot less itchy.  The cream also smelled good… like “good enough to eat” as the insert said it would.

Bonus Yoga Download from This is a cool website that I had never heard of and they have a bunch of free downloads too.

IMG_0362I was super pleased with this box because it lived up to what it promised.  It introduced me to products I have never tried before, and I did not need to buy the full sized product to find out if I like it or not.  I am also excited to have learned about a fun new place to get help with yoga.
